March is upon us, which means the light at the end of the tunnel that is winter is near! To reward myself I recently purchased some new nail polish. It’s only fair to myself, right? This lead me to investigate some spring/summer 2013 nail trends.

Here’s what’s in: 1. Neutral, cream coloured nails. 2. Dark, romantic shades such as ‘Suzi Skies in the Pyrenees’ by OPI. 3. Metallics such as gold, silver and copper with fun designs of diamonds or stripes. 4. Two - toned manicures with a half moon, a vertical split, a V-shape or a diagonal strip. 5. Bold designs with medival inspirations such as a ‘shark bite’ jagged edge or ‘blood drippping’ effect. (Check out harper’s bazaar for details on these trends.)

I chose to do a version of a two - toned manicure with O.P.I nail laquer in ‘Suzi’s Hungary Again!’ and ‘Alpine Snow’:
