We here at Charcoal wanted to take a break from our regular programming. It has been a busy couple months for us and between running The Poutine Cup as well as Burger Week so we thought it was time to put our feet up and to relax a little. We hosted a little impromptu Sunday Fun-day with some friends and board games from Mattel! The afternoon started with a few cocktails and a couple rounds of Apples to Apples. If you have never played this simple yet hilarious card matching game, you should definitely give it a shot. Mattel 2014 photo by brett howe © charcoal collaborative

Afterwards we mixed a few more drinks and got down to business with some Mad Gab. This was the favourite of the afternoon, a little healthy competition mixed with some wordplay and absurdity was exactly what we needed.Mattel 2014 photo by brett howe © charcoal collaborative

The whole point of our Sunday Fun-day was to relax, spend time with friends, have a few drinks, play some board games and remind ourselves of the simpler things that make us happy. We tend to forget that although culinary events, keeping up on the scene, and going out on the town is tons of fun (and something we will never stop doing), we need to make time to stay in and enjoy a few laughs with friends and family.

Thanks Mattel for making this happen and stay tuned as always for much more to come from Charcoal Collaborative!
