Exciting news! We bought a house!!! It has been a bit of a long journey but we got there and we can’t wait to make it our own. It is our first house and I must admit neither of us are what you call ‘handy’. We actually watched our TV with a very green tinged screen until I realized that the input cords were in the wrong outlets a year later… So I have mixed feelings of fear and excitement as we are planning on doing some renos pretty shortly after the move in.

The big plan is the kitchen, so I turned to the website houzz which has the most beautiful ideas you could imagine for any home! Its kind of like Pinterest for houses and it makes my heart hurt since there are so many pretty things.

Although the kitchens above are in my dreams, there are elements that we can take from them and do at a reasonable price. Overall we are looking for something that is inviting, open, incorporates wood rustic accents and has that good type of clutter. And of course has to be functional for Mr. Wayne. All the pictures above capture this feel in different ways; the exposed wood beams, open spaces, country/modern/vintage theme - they all make me drool! So this is the fun, daydreaming easy part. I will keep you posted with before and after photos as we go along, as well as share the wonderful meals that will be prepared in the new kitchen!
